The 2025 Sustainability Report is here!

The 2025 results show how Stockholm Royal Seaport continues to grow as a forward-looking, resource-efficient district. Through systematic work, continuous monitoring and close collaboration, we are shaping a more sustainable city step by step. A great deal is happening right now, particularly around Gasverket and in Hamnkvarteren.

Some key milestones:

  • Award-winning climate performance: By substituting materials and using lower-carbon concrete, the development of Saltkajen in Hamnkvarteren saved 2,200 tonnes of CO2e and SEK 2.1 million. The project received Betongföreningen’s climate award, confirming that clear climate requirements in procurement, combined with close collaboration with the contractor, deliver measurable results.

  • Logistics solutions reduce heavy construction traffic: Local handling of excavated materials through the Mass Consolidation Centre eliminated 6,400 heavy truck movements. At the same time, the Construction Consolidation Centre increased its consolidation rate to 81%, while the load factor for direct deliveries rose to 49%.
  • Energy performance and local energy production: In one development phase, the buildings’ energy performance is on average 19% better than the current BBR29 requirements. Local solar energy generation from buildings and facilities across the district now totals 770 MWh.
  • Dialogue and shared knowledge: Gasverksdagen brought together 5,000 visitors for guided tours and conversations about the area’s development. A further 5,000 public officials, students, experts, and international delegations visited the project on study visits.
  • Innovation to strengthen resilience: Two new research projects focusing on source-separating wastewater systems and urban cultivation have been awarded funding. The projects explore how local circular systems can strengthen Stockholm’s resilience and, for example, support local production of plant nutrients.
  • Less waste and more reuse: Residual waste has decreased by 40% compared with 2014. Pop-up Återbruk collected 4.8 tonnes of material for reuse during the year.

New this year are introductory texts explaining how we work with circularity, social sustainability, climate, transport, ecosystem services, and the transition away from fossil fuels.

The full Sustainability Report and the Results Appendix will soon be available in English. So far it is only published in Swedish.
